The ‘T’ represents the Territorial Force and the 5 represents the 5th Battalion York and Lancaster. This battalion had 2 companies based at Barnsley and 3 companies plus  Battalion HQ based at Rotherham.

Made in gilding metal and this example has ‘D’ shaped loops.
