This is an example of a ‘bazaar’ made or sand cast badge made in India. This one is made by ‘Nathu and Sons, Ludhiana’. Ludhiana is in the Punjab region of India. 

As the 2nd Battalion were based a few miles away from Ludhiana during the 1930’s, it is likley to have been purchased by a soldier of this battalion.
