The caption says they are Rotherham Volunteers which would mean they belong to one of the 3 companies based in Rotherham rather than either of the 2 companies based in Barnsley.
The soldiers would be wearing the all white metal cap badge with brass rose centre in their caps. This could be either the 1st or 2nd pattern badges as outlined above in this section.
Of note is the cloth badge worn on the arm which consists of the letters 'Y&L' over the number '2' and 'V'
