This very interesting photograph is of Officers and NCO's at the York and Lancaster depot in Pontefract in 1937. The uniforms had changed little since WW1 and the 1896 pattern collar badge can be seen on the NCO's uniforms.
The Officers appear to be wearing the silver and gilt badge in their Forage caps and have shiny Officer Service Dress collar badges (the normal OSD badges but with the bronzing buffed away).
On display are an impressive number of gallantry medals including the Distinguished Service Order, Military Cross, Distinguished Conduct Medal and Military Medal.
On the back of the photograph are written the following names:
Mander Jones, Sykes, Jordan, Edge, McConnell, Twywell (?) Pickering
