84th of Foot Shoulder Belt Plate worn 1826 to 1830
The plate is a rectangular silver back upon which is a silver laurel wreath and strap surmounted by a scroll with the battle honour ‘India’ and above it a Coronet.
On the strap are the words ‘York & Lancaster’ and in the centre, the numerials ‘84’. Below the strap is the battle honour ‘Nive’ and below this, the battle honour ‘Peninsula’ again, all in silver.
