On a gilt star and crown plate, is a laurel wreath with a circlet inscribed 'York and Lancaster'

In the centre of the circlet is a gilt background with a gilt number ‘84’. On the left centre ray of the star is the word ‘NIVE’ and on the right centre ray of the star is the word ‘INDIA’. Below the circlet is the word 'PENINSULA'. Below the 'PENINSULA' is a Union Rose of gilt with a silver centre.
